Here are wood carvings of the favorite
childhood story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The bears are
depicted as a Papa Bear, Mama Bear and Baby Bear. The bear carvings
can be left in the natural blonde color of the Linden wood or
stained to a dark brown. Goldilocks can be carved showing any number
of emotions depending on your thoughts as to the meaning behind the
grouping. Goldilocks can look innocent or mischievous or just plain
remorseful. The bears can appear to be dressed in different styles
of clothing. Early versions of the story only call the bears "Great
Huge Bear", "Middle Bear", and "Little, Small, Wee Bear", and so an
idea for a special order might be to carve them without specifically
identifying them as Mama Bear, Papa Bear and Baby Bear, and instead
just let their different sizes distinguish them.
Here is a summary of the
story of
Goldilocks And The Three Bears
Three bears, mother, father and
baby, decide to go for a walk because their breakfast is hot. While
they are out, a little girl named Goldilocks, walks into their
house. Goldilocks goes into the kitchen and tries the food that is
in three bowls. The food in the first two bowls is too hot or too
cold, but the baby bear's bowl she thinks is just right She tries
their three chairs and likes the baby bear's chair the best, but
breaks it when she sits down. Then Goldilocks tries the bear's three
beds and falls asleep in the baby bear's bed. The three bears come
home and are angry about baby bear’s breakfast, chair and bed. They
scare Goldilocks and she runs home.
