Santa Wood Carvings Info Page
Santa Claus is a traditional, collectible figure that so easily touches the sentimental side of persons across the world. He comes in many shapes and sizes, is able to express joy and cheerfulness with a simple sweep of his mittened hand, and temps us to leave him out the entire year, or at least to bring him out as quickly as possible each winter. Most of Christine Coffman's Santa carvings are miniature, but she also works with Butternut Wood for larger, Victorian styled Santas. The strong grain pattern in Butternut Wood pairs perfectly with the lines of his beard and suit. Each carving turns out differently from the next by intent and by the fact that each carving is hand carved. All work, from the original design of the figure to the application of oil to seal the finished carving is done by artist Christine Coffman, with hopes that her carving experience of over 53 years creates a gift you would be proud to present to your family or even yourself.
